Sonke Named Inside Lacrosse National Player Of The Week

BALTIMORE, MD. - Jeff Sonke was announced Monday as one of the first Warrior / InsideLacrosse.com National Players of the Week of the 2001 season.
Originated last year, the award honors one player from each division for an outstanding performance during the previous week. Released shortly following the conclusion of the weekend*s major games, the award will run through the NCAA Finals in May.
Here are the winners from the week of Monday February 26 - Sunday March 4:
Division I
Jeff Sonke, Attack, North Carolina.
With one second left in regulation, Jeff Sonke scored on a 40-foot shot
to give the Tar Heels an 11-10 win over Navy at Rip Miller Field in Annapolis, Md. Saturday. The goal gave Sonke a total of three goals
and three assists for the game.
Division II
Jon Riley, Midfield, Limestone.
Riley helped the defending champion Saints to an easy win, scoring six
goals and adding an assist in the 18-4 win at Wingate Saturday.
Division III
Justin Moe, Goalie, Messiah.
Moe recorded a school-record 31 saves as Messiah upset eighth-ranked
RIT, 9-8. The 31 saves broke Moe*s own record, set against RIT in 2000.
