UNC Volleyball Defeats Davidson, 3-0

The University of North Carolina volleyball team defeated the Davidson Wildcats, 3-0, Tuesday night at Belk Arena in Davidson, N.C. The Tar Heels won the first two games by narrow two-point margins, 30-28 in the first and 35-33 in the second, before taking the final game by a 30-16 count.
Junior outside hitter Laura Greene tallied her third double-double of the season Tuesday, totaling 12 kills to go along with 10 digs. Sophomore outside hittter Nicole Reis was also one dig away from her third double-double of the year, finishing with 15 kills and nine digs.
Junior setter Malaika Underwood played impressively filling in for injured setter Eve Rackham. Underwood totaled 38 sets and also had three kills and six digs for Coach Joe Sagula's squad.
With the win, the Tar Heels move to 3-1 for the season, while Davidson evens its record at 2-2. Carolina is back in action this weekend at the Santa Clara Invitational in Santa Clara, Calif. The Tar Heels will face UC-Santa Barbara Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. PST, Creighton Sept. 8, at 5 p.m. PST and Santa Clara Sunday, Sept. 9, at 1:30 p.m. PST.
