UNC Volleyball Falls To UC-Santa Barbara, 3-0

The 13th-ranked UC Santa Barbara Gauchos defeated North Carolina in the opening match of the Santa Clara University Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Leavey Center in Santa Clara, Calif.. Game scores were 30-19, 30-15, 30-21.
North Carolina was led by Laura Greene's 13 kills. Setter Malaika Underwood totaled 26 assists for the Tar Heels as well.
The Gauchos outhit UNC .425 to .095 and were led by Danielle Bauer's 17 kills. Also reaching double digits were Brie Lampe with 12 and Brooke Niles with 11. auer added a double-double with a strong defensive effort, posting 10 digs and five blocks.
The Tar Heels are back in action Saturday at 5 p.m. facing Creighton.
