Throughout the 2002-03 season, senior forward Jennifer Thomas will provide TarHeelBlue.com readers with an inside look at the Carolina women's basketball program. This installment is her sixth of the season.
Happy New Year, Tar Heel fans! First off, I would like to start my journal by apologizing for not being consistent with my entries. Since we've been out of school for Christmas break, I've been pretty busy, but now that classes have started I'm back! Now that I've got that out of my system, let's talk basketball.
Right now we're 12-1 and undefeated in the conference. We have had impressive wins against NC State, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech. Today we're traveling to Tallahassee to play Florida State on Sunday, Jan. 12, with is the birthday of yours truly, so we have no choice but to beat those Seminoles!
In terms of the team, basketball is going really well. There are times when we look unstoppable, but then we have moments when we tend to lose our focus. However, I honestly feel that we are improving with each game and that when we play to our maximum potential, no one can beat us.
Well, enough about basketball. I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year's celebration. Oh, and I would like to give a special "shout out" to Mr. Tucker, Tiffany's dad. He's one of our biggest fans and he loves reading "J.T.'s Journal" - lol!
One more thing: We're playing Duke on Jan. 20 at 12 p.m. and would really appreciate if all of you guys would come out and pack Carmichael.
Well, our plane is about to land, therefore I need to stow my tray table before I get in trouble.
Adios,
Jennifer #10
