WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. - The North Carolina women's swimming team opened its NCAA competition on Thursday with two competitors in the field. Senior Virginia Hanson (Birmingham, Ala.) was the top finisher for the Tar Heels on Thursday as she placed 58th in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:04.72.
The other Tar Heel to compete on Thursday was junior Lizzy Bruce (Wichita, Kan.). Bruce also swam in the 200-yard individual medley where she finished 63rd with a time of 2:07.65.
