Miller Voted All-ACC

GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina senior Brooke Miller was among 17 players voted to the 2006 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Team, announced on Wednesday by the league. The ACC honor is the first of Miller's career.
A midfielder from Hummelstown, Pa., Miller is a team captain and fourth-year starter for UNC. This season, she has seven goals - including a team-high three gamewinners - and six assists for a career-high 20 points.
Miller and the host Tar Heels begin ACC Tournament play on Thursday with a 4 p.m. first-round game against Duke at Francis E. Henry Stadium. For more information on the tournament, click here.
Defending ACC and NCAA champion Maryland led the way with five selections to the All-ACC team, while Wake Forest, the regular-season co-champion along with the Terrapins, was second with four. Duke placed three players on the team, and Boston College and Virginia had two each. oston College's Bob Dirks was honored as the ACC Offensive Player of the Year, while Maryland's Paula Infante won the defensive honor for the second year in a row. Wake Forest's Jennifer Averill was voted the ACC Coach of the Year.
