Tar Heels Take Title

The North Carolina field hockey team claimed the 16th Atlantic Coast Conference title in program history Sunday with a 4-3 overtime win against Wake Forest in Newton, Mass. Senior Rachel Dawson's penalty stroke in the 75th minute of play gave UNC the victory. Dawson was named the tournament MVP and was joined on the ACC All-Tournament Team by senior Laree Beans and sophomore Danielle Forword. Katelyn Falgowski was honored as the ACC Freshman of the Year.
