Dawson A Face In The Crowd

UNC field hockey senior Rachel Dawson is one of Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd in the magazine's current issue, dated Sept. 24. Dawson, from Berlin, N.J., is recognized for her season-opening performance in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, in which she totaled four goals in her first two games back after missing the 2006 Carolina season while competing as part of the U.S. National Team. Dawson and the Tar Heels, now 9-0 and ranked No.1, are back in action on Saturday when they host Duke at Henry Stadium. The 1 p.m. game marks the beginning of this year's Carlyle Cup competition. Admission to the game is free and all fans in attendance will receive a Carolina field hockey rally towel. Fans also can enjoy Field Hockey Field Day, which will feature inflatable games and free cotton candy and snow cones on the field behind the stadium.
