Five Tar Heels Named To All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Five members of the University of North Carolina's men's lacrosse team were named Tuesday to the 2009 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as announced by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
UNC's representatives on this year's team are redshirt sophomore midfielder Michael Burns, a history major who was named to the team for the third straight year; sophomore defenseman Ryan Flanagan, a business administration major who was named to the team for the second straight year; freshman midfielder Tyler Morton, an international studies major; freshman defenseman Mark Staines; and senior goalkeeper Grant Zimmerman, a 2009 alumnus with a major in management and society.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
