UNC's Kintzer Earns First Cap

North Carolina goalkeeper Jackie Kintzer earned her first international cap on Sunday, making her inaugural appearance with the U.S. National Team in a 3-0 loss to Argentina in Mendoza, Argentina. The U.S. squad is playing in a six-game test series Feb. 13-21.
Also in the starting lineup for Sunday's game were Katelyn Falgowski, Kintzer's Tar Heel teammate, and former UNC players Rachel Dawson, Jesse Gey and Carrie Lingo.
Kintzer, from Robesonia, Pa., is a rising senior and studio art major. She earned All-America honors as the Tar Heels claimed the 2009 NCAA title.
The U.S. dropped its first two games in Argentina to the hosts, falling 2-0 on Feb. 13 and 3-0 Sunday. The squad was set to see Argentina again on Tuedsay, Belguim Thursday, Chile the following Saturday (Feb. 20) and Argentina, the 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, one last time on Feb. 21 to wrap up the tour.
