U.S Remains Undefeated At World Cup Qualifier

The U.S. is 3-0 with shutout wins over Mexico, France and Belgium following the first three days of play at the 2010 AtaHolding World Cup Qualifier at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Six Tar Heels are part of the U.S. roster as the America team plays for a berth in the 2010 Women's World Cup in Argentina this September.
Representing the U.S. are current UNC players Katelyn Falgowski and Jackie Kintzer, both rising seniors, as well as Carolina alums Rachel Dawson, Jesse Gey, Carrie Lingo and Amy Tran.
Tran, the team's starting goalkeeper, has earned all three shutouts. Kintzer serves as her backup.
After a rest day on Tuesday, the U.S. returns to action on Wednesday against Korea, which also is 3-0. The U.S. plays Canada on Thursday. Play wraps up on Saturday, with games determining first through sixth places.
