Falgowski, Kintzer Honored At Tournament

North Carolina's Katelyn Falgowski, a rising senior from Landenberg, Pa., was named the 2010 Women's National Championships Player of the Tournament on Saturday night as the U.S. Field Hockey event wrapped up at the National Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va. Fellow Tar Heel Jackie Kintzer, a rising senior from Robesonia, Pa., was named the Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
Falgowski and Kintzer, both of whom earned first-team All-America honors in 2009 as UNC won the NCAA title, played for the South team at the National Championships. They were joined on the squad by Carolina teammates Jen Slocum, Elizabeth Drazdowski, Kelsey Kolojejchick, Caitlin Van Sickle and Meghan Dawson, as well as Tar Heel grad Melanie Brill.
The South team, helmed by Tar Heel assistant head coach Grant Fulton, finished 4-1 at the event.
