U.S. Holds Off Argentina, 1-0

The U.S. topped Argentina 1-0 Tuesday in women's field hockey Olympic action in London. Carolina alum Amy Tran Swensen earned the shutout in goal for the U.S. team, while fellow Tar Heels Rachel Dawson and Katelyn Falgowski played 50 and 58 minutes, respectively.
The U.S. came into the Games ranked No. 10 in the world and Argentina is No. 2, although the Americans beat the Argentinians in the Pan American Games gold medal match last fall to earn an Olympic berth.
