Team USA Opens 1-1 At Junior World Cup

The U.S. is 1-1 after two games at the Junior World Cup in Monchengladbach, Germany, with a win over Korea and a loss to the Netherlands. Two Tar Heels, Emma Bozek and Emily Wold, are part of the 18-player roster.
The U.S. opened competition on July 27 with a 4-1 win over Korea, which won the Junior World Cup in 2001 and 2005. Bozek scored the third goal of the match on a reverse chip off the rebound from the initial corner shot.
On July 28, the U.S. fell 5-1 to the Netherlands, which won this event in 1997 and 2009.
Team USA will finish pool play on July 30 with a game against Ghana. Quarterfinals are set for Aug. 1, semifinals for Aug. 2 and the medal matches on Aug. 4.
