The U.S. National Women's Field Hockey Team fell 1-0 to host Argentina Saturday in the championship match at the Pan American Cup, played in Mendoza, Argentina. Five former Tar Heels played for the team, and UNC assistant coach Guy Cathro was a member of the coaching staff.
Playing in front of an enthusiastic home crowd, Argentina's Delfina Merino scored the gamewinner in the 55th minute on a shot from the top of the circle.
