Shealy, Travers Picked For Senior All-Star Game

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Two UNC field hockey seniors, Loren
Shealy and Samantha Travers, have been selected to play in the 2014 NFHCA
Division I Senior Game, scheduled for Nov. 22 at the University of Maryland in
College Park, Md. The all-star game, set for 3 p.m., will be played in
conjunction with the NCAA field hockey final four taking place in College Park,
Md., that weekend.
Shealy is a business administration major from Charlotte, N.C. A forward, she currently leads the team in scoring with 10 goals and eight assists for 28 points.
Travers is a sociology and communication studies double major and entrepreneurship minor from Harare, Zimbabwe. A back, she anchors a Tar Heel defense that is allowing just 0.88 goals per game.
Both have started all 17 games this fall for the top-ranked Tar Heels, currently 15-2 on the season. UNC closes out the regular season on Sunday with a non-conference game at Old Dominion. After that, Carolina looks ahead to the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament Nov. 6, 7 and 9 at Duke.
