Tar Heels Will Close Out Regular Season At ODU Sunday

The top-ranked UNC field hockey team will close the regular season Sunday in Norfolk, Va., with a 1 p.m. game against No. 17 Old Dominion at L.R. Hill Sports Complex. UNC heads into the match with a 15-2 record while the Monarchs are 11-6 and on a five-game winning streak, including a 3-0 win at Georgetown on Friday.
UNC's last game was on Oct. 26, when the Tar Heels beat Pacific 7-0 to close out the home portion of the regular season. Carolina has won seven in a row, dating back to a 2-1 loss vs. Virginia on Oct. 3.
In the last Carolina-Old Dominion matchup, on Oct. 27, 2013, in Norfolk, the Monarchs won 3-2 in overtime. UNC leads the overall series 42-35-2.
After the ODU game, the Tar Heels look ahead to the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament Nov. 6, 7 and 9 at Duke. UNC is the No. 2 seed after earning a share of the regular-season title.
