Five Tar Heels Picked For Champions Challenge

Five Tar Heel field hockey players have been named to the 18-player U.S. roster for the upcoming Champions Challenge, set for April 27-May 4 in Glasgow, Scotland. Selected to represent USA Field Hockey are Rachel Dawson, Katelyn Falgowski, Jackie Kintzer, Kelsey Kolojejchick and Emily Wold. Wold is a rising junior at UNC and the rest are Carolina alums.
The Champions Challenge is the final step in preparation for the Hockey World Cup, to be played in the Netherlands in June. The U.S. heads to Scotland ranked No. 10 in the world.
Other teams participating are No. 8 Korea, No. 11 South Africa, No. 12 Belgium, No. 13 India, No. 14 Spain, No. 15 Ireland and No. 16 Scotland. The U.S. is competing in Pool B with South Africa, Spain and Ireland and opens play. For more on the tournament, click here.
