No. 3 Tar Heels Host Longwood Friday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina field hockey team, 10-1 and ranked No. 3 in the national poll, will host Longwood on Friday in its only action of the week. Game time at Francis E. Henry Stadium is 5 p.m.
The Tar Heels are 3-0 at home this season and have yet to give up a goal on the Henry Stadium turf.
Longwood comes into the contest 4-6 overall following a 7-0 loss at Duke last Sunday.
UNC won last year's matchup with the Lancers 7-0 in Farmville, Va., on Oct. 10, 2014.
Friday's game is the first of two consecutive home games for the Tar Heels, who host No. 4 Duke on Friday, Nov. 16.
UNC is led in scoring by sophomore Gab Major, the ACC Offensive Player of the Week the past two weeks. She has 11 goals and six assists for 28 points on the season. As has been the case all season, the team's three seniors all rank among its offensive leaders. Emily Wold leads the team in assists with seven and ranks second in goals with nine. Nina Notman has eight goals and two assists and Casey Di Nardo has seven goals and two assists.
