CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After opening the season with six consecutive road games, the North Carolina field hockey team will continue to enjoy the pleasures of playing at home with a third straight contest at Francis E. Henry Stadium. The No. 3 Tar Heels host No. 11 Boston College Friday at 4 p.m. for an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup.
There is no charge for admission. The first 100 UNC students in attendance will receive free “White Out” t-shirts for Saturday's football game against Delaware.
Last year's matchup with Boston College went into overtime, with UNC topping the Eagles 3-2 in Newton, Mass. Carolina heads into Friday's game 7-1 overall and 1-1 in ACC play while B.C. is 5-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Both teams have dropped a conference game to No. 2 Syracuse, UNC 4-2 on Sept. 12 in the season's only loss and Boston College 3-2 on Sept. 19.
Following the Boston College game, the Tar Heels make a trip on Sunday to take on Appalachian State in Boone, N.C. The Mountaineers are coached by Carolina alum Meghan Dawson, who is in her first year with the program.
