Tar Heels Host Virginia Friday In ACC Matchup

The third-ranked North Carolina field hockey team returns to Atlantic Coast Conference play Friday with a home matchup against No. 10 Virginia. Game time is 6 p.m. at Francis E. Henry Stadium.
UNC comes into the meeting 10-2 overall and 2-1 in ACC play. The Cavaliers are 8-4 overall and are also 2-1 in conference games.
This will be the Tar Heels' second game of the week, following a 6-0 road win at Davidson on Tuesday night.
At halftime, UNC will honor members of the 1995, 1996 and 1997 teams. The Tar Heels won both NCAA and ACC Championships in each of those years. The group has reunited in Chapel Hill this weekend to mark 20 years since the second of the three consecutive titles.
After Friday's action the Tar Heels hit the road for five consecutive road games, not returning to Henry until the final game of the regular season, on Oct. 30.
