Tar Heels Host Flames In NCAA First Round

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina women's soccer has received an at-large bid to the 2016 NCAA Championship and will play host to Liberty University Saturday at 1 p.m. in the first round of the tournament at Fetzer Field. This will be the second straight year and third time in the last four years the two teams will have faced each other in the opening round of the tournament.
UNC is the #2 seed in its quadrant of the bracket. The other seeded teams in UNC portion of the bracket are #1 South Carolina, #3 Clemson and #4 BYU.
UNC finished the year strong, losing only one game since September 16 to finish with a 13-3-4 record. Liberty qualified for the tournament as champions of the Big South Conference.
Gates open at 12 noon Saturday. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and senior citizens and $3 for group tickets.
