UNC Drains 16 3's In 115-51 Exhibition Win

Watts delivered her monster night on 12-of-18 shooting, and was 7-for-11 from beyond the arc in only 24 minutes. She also had eight rebounds, four steals, three blocks and three assists.
Freshman Olivia Smith knocked down five three-pointers on her way to a 21-point evening. Paris Kea added 13 points, seven steals, six boards and five assists, and Destinee Walker chipped in with 11 points.
Tamara Harvey led the Lady Vikings with 10 points.
Watts made a rare four-point play and Carolina converted its first seven shots to take an insurmountable 17-4 lead midway though the opening quarter. Watts had 11 points on 4-of-4 shooting early for the Tar Heels.
Carolina finished the first quarter on a 16-0 run, and led 33-10 with Watts scoring 16.
The scoring onslaught continued into the second quarter. The Heels scored 10 of the first 12 points of the stanza for a 43-12 lead. The advantage grew to a 59-23 margin at halftime with Watts scoring 23 points to match the entire Lady Viking squad at the intermission.
UNC lead by as many as 68 points in the final minutes.
The Tar Heels shot 52.0 percent from the floor, and 16-of-32 from distance. The school record for three's in a game is 14, set on four occasions with the last coming at Duke on March 1, 2015.
North Carolina begins the regular season on Friday by hosting Alabama State at 4 p.m.
