Tar Heels Pace U.S. Team To 10-0 Win

Tar Heels accounted for five of the U.S. team's 10 goals in a 10-0 win over host Trinidad & Tobago Friday in the opening game of play at the Junior Pan American Games in Tacarigua, Trinidad.
Gab Major, a sophomore, had a hat trick, scoring the team's second, fourth and 10th goals, two from the field and one on a penalty corner. Ashley Hoffman, a freshman, scored on a penalty corner. Lauren Moyer, a junior, also added a penalty corner goal.
The fourth current Tar Heel on the team is defender Julia Young, a junior who helped pace the team to its shutout.
The U.S. is back in action on Saturday afternoon, facing Canada in pool play. For the complete schedule, click here.
