Watts Earns Newcomer Award At 2016 Rammys

CHAPEL HILL - Stephanie Watts, the 2015-16 ACC Women's Basketball Freshman of the Year, was named co-Outstanding Female Newcomer of the Year at the 2016 Rammy Awards, the annual celebration to highlight UNC's successes of the past year within the athletic department and beyond.
A native of Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, Watts earned second team All-ACC and All-Freshman team honors this past season. She led UNC in scoring at 14.7 points per game.
Watts, the only freshman named to either the ACC first or second team, leds all ACC freshman in scoring (14.7), blocked shots (1.3), three-point field goals made (76) and ranked second in rebounding (7.2).
