CHAPEL HILL - Fresh off a 100-69 road win at Elon, the North Carolina women's basketball team faces Kent State in the home opener on Friday inside Carmichael Arena at 6 p.m.

• UNC opened the season on the road for the first time since the 2000-01 campaign at Buffalo on Nov. 17, 2000. The win at Elon on Tuesday was the Tar Heels' first outside of Chapel Hill since a 79-52 victory over Tennessee Tech in the 1994 Rainbow Wahine Classic, played in Honolulu.
• Carolina improved to 39-6 all-time in season-opening games with the 100-69 win at Elon.
