Friday Night Hoops Pits UNC Against UNCG

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina concludes a three-game home stand on Friday by hosting UNCG at 7 p.m. This game was originally scheduled for last Sunday before a winter storm swept through the state last weekend. UNC head coach Sylvia Hatchell needs one win to become the ACC's all-time wins leader. Hatchell, in her 33rd season at Carolina, will pass former Virginia head coach Debbie Ryan on the ACC's all-time victories list (739) with her next win. Hatchell is 739-314 at North Carolina.

Stephanie Watts threatened multiple school scoring records on Wednesday in leading North Carolina to a commanding 82-55 victory over UNCW. Watts scored 35 points - the most in the ACC this season - and converted nine three-pointers in leading the way for North Carolina, who snapped a mini three-game skid with the win.

• UNCG first-year assistant coach Cetera DeGraffenreid was a four-year starter at North Carolina from 2008-11. She is the all-time leader in career free throws made (544), ranks third in Tar Heel history in both assists (589) and steals (371) and finished her career with 1,562 points.
• Janelle Bailey is second in the ACC with five double-doubles this season. She has scored in double figures in 21 consecutive games.Â
• Stephanie Watts is averaged 23.4 points and shooting 49.1 percent (27-55) from three-point land over the last five games.
