Serretti's Five RBI Lead No. 14 UNC Over No. 21 BC 9-3

Danny Serretti continued to impress at the plate and ended the contest with five RBI, including a three-run home run, which was his third in his last seven games.
On the mound, Austin Love improved to 4-0 behind another dominating performance. He tossed seven innings, which yielded two hits, one run, no earned runs, two walks and eight strikeouts.
The Tar Heels struck early with a three-run home run in the first inning off of the bat of Danny Serretti. After Zarate led off with an infield single and Caleb Roberts drew a walk, Serretti hit his second home run in as many games.
After a span that saw seven-straight Tar Heels retired, Brett Centracchio roped a one-out double to right field but was stranded in the fourth inning. In the bottom of the inning, Boston College pushed across its first run of the game with a sacrifice fly.
Carolina loaded the bases in the fifth inning after drawing a trio of walks.
Serretti smacked an RBI fielder's choice to the third baseman to give the Tar Heels a 4-1 lead. Centracchio followed with a line-drive to right field that was caught for the third out of the frame.
Carolina's offense broke through in the sixth inning. After Dallas Tessar laid down a perfect pinch-hit sacrifice bunt, Johnny Castagnozzi ripped a double down the left-field line to plate Clemente Inclan and Tomas Frick.
Angel Zarate added insurance for the Tar Heels with a one-out RBI single and the Tar Heels carried a 7-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth. Carolina added another run in the eighth inning when Serretti plated his fifth RBI of the evening.
Boston College hit a solo home run in the eighth to cut the lead to 8-2. Later in the inning,an RBI triple brought the Eagles within five.
Mikey Madej, who drew a pinch-hit walk, scored his first run of 2021 in the ninth to give the Tar Heels a final 9-3 lead.
Nik Pry pitched the final two innings on the mound for Carolina and struck out three. He surrendered a pair of earned runs and one walk.
Zarate collected his fifth multi-hit game of the season and extended his on-base streak to 36 games.
The Tar Heels return to the diamond tomorrow at 3 p.m.
