RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior Jill Shippee was the top collegiate competitor in the women's hammer throw and second overall to highlight Tar Heel track and field performances on Saturday in a rain-condensed final day at the Raleigh Relays.

Shippee's throw of 66.71m (218-10) placed her second overall. The Tar Heels also took second in the men's hammer with junior James Joycey's throw of 67.30m (220-9).

The Tar Heels also had a trio of second-place finishes in track events. In the men's 100, junior Qhiyal Towns was the runner-up in a time of 10.38, a PR for him and the second-fastest time in school history.

The men's 4x100 relay also placed second with a time of 40.02. The UNC team of Towns and seniors Isaiah Palmer, Dontavian Smith and Ryan Saint-Germain turned in the seventh-fastest time in school history.

In the men's 200 meters, Palmer was second in 21.03, Saint-Germain eighth in 21.42 and senior Jadon Johnson 11^th in 21.56

In the women's 200 meters, two Tar Heels finished in the top nine with senior Anna Keefer fifth (23.72) and freshman Brianna White ninth (23.92).

In the men's 400-meter hurdles, two Carolina freshmen were in the top 11 with Matthew Harris fourth (52.42) and Craig Saddler II in 11^th (54.03).
