Hendry, Williamson Named To NFHCA Senior Team
May 19, 2021 | Field Hockey
North Carolina seniors Courtnie Williamson and Amanda Hendry have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Senior Team, announced Wednesday by the NFHCA.
Â
The 38-member 2020 Division I Senior Team takes the place of the usual Senior Game, which was canceled due to Covid. The selected student-athletes were nominated by their NFHCA member coach and were chosen based on their career accomplishments.
Â
Both Tar Heel seniors were members of three NCAA Championship teams and four Atlantic Coast Conference Championship teams during their playing careers. Over the past four years, Carolina has an overall record of 83-6 and is 65-1 over the past three.
Â
Hendry, from Wilton, Conn., has started in goal for the Tar Heels for the past four years. An All-ACC and All-NCAA Tournament honoree, she finished her career with a goals-against average of 1.04. As a senior, she served as part of the team's captains group.
Â
Williamson, from Radnor, Pa., has started on the back line for the past two years and provided depth before that. In 2020-21, she served as UNC's team captain while completing her first year of MBA studies at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School.
