Two Tar Heels competed in the men's 1500m Wednesday at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Three Tar Heels competed on Wednesday at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., with two more set for action on Thursday.

Graduate student Brandon Tubby and senior Jesse Hunt both earned honorable mention All-America honors in the men's 1500m. Tubby was 18^th in 3:41.33 and Hunt placed 21^st in 3:44.42.

In men's shot put, senior Daniel McArthur placed 18^th with a throw of 18.06m (59-3) to earn honorable mention All-America honors as well.

Two Tar Heel women will compete on Thursday, Jill Shippee in the hammer throw and Madison Wiltrout in the javelin. The hammer throw gets underway at 4 PM ET/1 PT. The javelin starts at 7:45 PM PT/4:45 PT.
