How It Happened
- After falling behind 3-0 in the opening five minutes, freshman Eva Ingrilli scored UNC's first goal of the season to get things started offensively for the Tar Heels.

- Ashley Humphrey and GraceAnn Leonard both capitalized on turnovers to score two in a row to break up JMU's 7-0 run towards the end of the third quarter.
- In what proved to be a game of runs, UNC once again began to claw back and tallied three more to level the score at 14 apiece after 45 minutes.
- The Dukes opened up a three-goal advantage during the fourth quarter before Kiley Mottice and Caroline Godine got the Tar Heels back within one.
- Alyssa Long then netted the equalizer with 17 seconds left, forcing the game into overtime with a score of 18-18.
- Katelyn Morgan found the golden goal five seconds into the extra period to give JMU the 19-18 win.
