Long time member of the Carolina field hockey staff Garyn Berry was named the team's new Director of Field Hockey Operations in September of 2025.Â
Berry, who has worked for the program since the 2022 season, moves into this new role after serving the last two seasons as a graduate assistant. He started his time with the Tar Heels as a student manager.
In his now four seasons on staff, the Heels have won two national titles and three ACC Championships.Â
A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, he is a two-time graduate from UNC. He received his Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2023 and his Masters in Sports Administration in 2025.
