Career Best Times: 19.75 in 50 free (school record); 42.51 in 100 free (school record); 1:37.21 in 200 free (9th in school history); 48.68 in 100 back (5th in school history); 51.04 in 100 fly.
General: A talented freestyle sprinter...three-year letterman...school record holder in the 50 and 100 freestyles short course and 100 free long course as well...is a member of five relays that have set school records (200 free, 400 free, 200 medley, 400 medley, 800 free).
Long Course Highlights: At 2011 US Nationals in August he shattered his own UNC long course mark in the 100-meter free by almost a second...he led off Schroeder YMCA 4x100 meter freestyle relay in 49.78...his previous school mark in the event was 50.58.
2010-11 (Junior): First-team All-America honoree...swam on UNC's 800 free relay which copped seventh place at NCAA meet...individually he was 12th in the 100 free at NCAAs in a time of 42.75...also swam on NCAA relays which placed 11th in the 400 free race and 16th in the 400 medley event...tapped for All-ACC Team second year in a row...was named the Most Valuable Swimmer of the 2011-12 Tar Heel unit...had a stellar ACC championship meet...won the conference crown in the 100 free in a school record 42.51...also placed fifth in the 50 free at 19.85 and 10th in the 100 back at 48.68...swam on a trio of relays which garnered runner-up league honors (400 free, 400 medley, 200 medley)...won dual events in UNC's dual meet win over Maryland...captured the 2010 Nike Cup championship in the 100 free at 43.80.
2009-10 (Sophomore): All-ACC selection...finished second in the 100 free at the ACC Championships with a school record time of 43.42...anchored the 200 medley relay team to an ACC title...also finished seventh in the 50 free with a 20.06 time, tying the school record, and tied for 10th in the 200 free with a time of 1:37.98...swam on three other relays at ACCs, all of which took second-place finishes...was the leadoff swimmer on the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay and anchored the 400 medley relay unit...was an honorable mention All-America in two events, swimming the third leg on the 400 free relay which placed 11th and anchoring the 400 medley relay which took 14th...won the 50 free title at the 2009 Gamecock Invitational.
2008-09 (Freshman): Competed at the 2009 ACC Championships in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyles where he placed 19th, 15th, and ninth, respective-ly... broke the school record in the 100 free with a time of 43.91...he swam on three relays which set new school records at ACCs -- the 200 free, 400 free and 200 medley relays.
Prep: Graduated from Nicolet High School in Glendale, Wis. in June 2008...swam there for four years...six-time YMCA national champion in individual freestyle events and on relay teams...six-time NISCA All-America selection...captain of the Nicolet High team...captain of the Schroeder YMCA squad.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is starts and turns.
2. My best friend on another college swimming/diving team is Mitchell Friedemann at the University of Arizona.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time playing Monopoly.
2. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be basketball.
3. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Red Hot Chili Peppers.
4. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is computer programming.
Section #3: Food & Beverage
1. After a big meet, I'd like to eat at a buffet spread at that included pepperoni Tombstone Pizza.
2. My favorite beverage is milk.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is Grandma's lasagna or Grandpa's pancakes.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Burger King.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is my Grandma's cookies.
