Donna Cheek is in her sixth year as an administrative assistant to women’s basketball. Her main duties consist of assisting the director of operations and receptionist. No stranger to athletics at UNC, Donna has been an administrative assistant in Olympic sports with field hockey, wrestling, men’s lacrosse, track and field and gymnastics.

Her husband Winfred is employed by a dental laboratory business in Pittsboro. The couple has two children - a son Synjun, an asphalt foreman for Sun Rock, Inc., and a daughter Kendra, who attends CCCC in the nursing program and is a part-time NA in the Lineberger Cancer Center.

She recently became a grandmother with the arrival of Brayden, the son of Synjun and his wife.

Donna and her entire family have always been devoted Carolina fans. In her free time, Donna enjoys following the Tar Heels and spending time with her family and friends.
