Red-shirted during her true freshman season • named to the 2012 ACC Academic Honor Roll and the 2012 spring semester Dean's List • part of leadership council • had a 4.0 GPA in spring semester.

Member of U17 Women's National Team player pool 2008-09 • member of U15 Girls' National Team as a defender in 2008 • member of Region III ODP Team 2007-08, 2010-11 and Tennessee ODP Team 2007-10 • played with Brentwood Soccer Club 2009-11, FC Alliance 2007-08, KFC 2005-06 and Cookeville United (boys team) 2003-04 • has played in multiple camps, friendlies and internationals with U15 Team, Region III ODP squad and Tennessee ODP unit, competing in Florida, California, Sweden, Denmark, Costa Rica, South Korea and Canada • team captain of GNT U15s at Nike Friendlies in California • an All-Star at the 2008 adidas ESP Camp • team captain and MVP in 2008 with Region III ODP team in Costa Rica • led Brentwood Soccer Club to four Division I state championships and three Region III Premier League titles.

Graduated from Livingston Academy on May 21, 2011 • played center midfield and forward there • was the Gatorade State Player of the Year her junior and senior years • NSCAA Scholar All-America as a senior • NSCAA All-Region Team every year from 2008-11 • named All-America by ESPN Rise as a senior and was named an ESPN Rise All-Star from 2007-11 • four-time All-State selection by both the coaches and the media • named All-Region and All-District four times each and was a three-time district MVP selection • as a senior she had 58 goals and 27 assists • the goal total was the third most in a season in state history and the assist total tied the state record • finished third in career goals in Tennessee with 163 and tied for second in assists with 87, passing UNC great Cindy Parlow's 86 in the process • won 2010-11 NSCAA Senior Excellence Award • member of National Honor Society, FCA, Young Life, Interact, Science Club, Beta Club and Leadership Club.
Personal
Kathryn Rose Nigro is the daughter of Anthony Nigro and Elizabeth Dellapace-Nigro • was born March 8, 1993 in Coral Springs, Fla. • is one of nine children • double major in exercise and sports science and religion • her oldest brother is a member of the Navy while the next two are members of the U.S. Army • extremely active in community service projects including flood relief, coats for the needy, food drives, blood drives, adopt an elderly neighbor program, soldiers' gift boxes and soccer coaching for elementary school students • active in Pass Back, collecting used soccer cleats and shin guards for children in Costa Rica.

Section #1: Soccer
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel soccer player is my amazing teammates. They are honestly the most talented people I know.
2. My favorite things about competing for Coach Dorrance are his passion for the game and the development of his players.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is my defensive presence.
4. My best friend on another college soccer team is Gilda Doria at Duke
5. My greatest strength as a soccer player is my technical ability.
Section #2: Interests
1. Away from the soccer field and academic pursuits I like to spend time with my family and friends, listen to music, and do anything outdoors.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is Bridesmaids.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be swimming.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is the Dave Matthews Band.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is the Food Network Channel. I'm obsessed with watching it!
Section #3: Food & Beverage
1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a buffet spread at McCaskill that included my dad's cooking.
2. My favorite beverage is chocolate milk.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is literally anything made by my dad! He's the best cook I know.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Elmo's Diner.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is ice cream.

1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go to Woodstock.
2. My most prized personal possession is my Bible.
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Johnny Depp.
4. My dream job is a professional soccer player or over-seas missionary.
5. The most interesting people I've met at UNC are Addie Gay and Kristine Welsh-Loveman.
