CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The 10th-ranked University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team return to the fiendly confines of Fetzer Field this Saturday as Coach Dave Klarmann's team plays host to the Butler Bulldogs at 2 p.m. Admission to the game is free.
Carolina opened the 2000 season successfully last Sunday afternoon by defeating 27th-ranked Fairfield 12-11 at Fetzer Field. Saturday's game will be the first of the season for 21st-ranked Butler. It will also be the head coaching debut of former Bulldog lacrosse star Craig Kahoun.
This game has been a barnburner each of the past two seasons. The Bulldogs defeated Carolina 13-12 at Fetzer Field two years ago in the season opener for both teams. Last year, Carolina survived a second-half rally by Butler to prevail 12-11 in a game played in Durham, N.C.
