Tar Heels Move Up To #8 In Inside Lacrosse Poll

TOWSON, MD. - The North Carolina Tar Heels have moved up one spot this week to #8 in the lastest Inside Lacrosse Magazine and InsideLacrosse.com National Media Men's Division I Lacrosse Poll.
The Syracuse Orangemen regained the No. 1 ranking this week after a 11-8 victory over Princeotn. Syracuse returns to the top spot after spending one week at No. 2 after losing at Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays lost 12-6 last Saturday to Virginia dropping them from No. 1 to fourth.
Syracuse earned 11 first-place votes out of a possible 18 and edged out Virginia by three points overall with 352 to take the top spot. The Cavaliers received the other seven first-place votes and had an overall total of 349 to take the second spot.
Undefeated Loyola checks in at No. 3 while Maryland is fifth, one of four Atlantic Coast Conference teams in the Top 10. Georgetown, Princeton, North Carolina, Towson and Duke round out the first 10.
The next four slots had no change this week as UMass, Cornell, Hofstra and Navy held their ground. Ohio State moved up one spot to 15th followed by Pennsylvania, Penn State, Yale, Notre Dame and Harvard to complete this week's poll.
The Inside Lacrosse Media Poll is released every Monday throughout the lacrosse season.
