Carolina Men's Golf Team In Ninth Place At Cleveland Golf/Augusta State Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The University of North Carolina men's golf team carded two rounds of four-under-par 284 today in the Cleveland Golf/Augusta State Invitational. The team's total 568 puts them in ninth place going into Sunday's final round.
Clemson leads the tournament after posting a 273 and 279 today, giving it a total score of 24-under 552. Host school Augusta State is in second place and one stroke back of the leader at 553. Wake Forest is in third at 19-under 557.
Augusta State's James Heath and Oliver Wilson are tied for first place after both carding a four-under 68 and a five-under 67 today. They are now at a nine-under 135. Tied for third are Gerogia's David Denham and Clemson's Jack Ferguson, both one stroke back at eight-under 136.
Tar Heel junior Dustin Bray is tied for 16th place at four-under 140 after playing his first two rounds today at 69 and 71. Senior Jeremy Elliott shot a 70 and 71, tying him for 25th place. He is playing as an unattached individual and cannot not be included in UNC's team score.
Senior Ramon Bescansa finished today at one-under 143 and tied for 32nd after carding a 72 and 71. Junior Richard Treis shot a pair of even pars and is tied for 40th at 144. Freshman Kevin Silva shot a 75 and 70, giving him a total 145 and tying him for 48th. Senior Bob Cherry is tied for 78th at seven-over 151 after his rounds of 71 and 80.
The 54-hole event is being played at the Forest Hills Golf Club, a par 72, 6,875-yard course. The third and final round will be played Sunday.
