Tar Heels Land At No. 3 In Two Preseason Polls

BALTIMORE, MD. - From Syracuse at No. 1 through Bucknell at No. 20, Inside Lacrosse ranks the top 20 teams entering the 2011 season with the North Carolina Tar Heels led by third-year head coach Joe Breschi checking in at No. 3. The Orange come in at No. 1 this preseason after finishing 2010 with a first round exit. With six All-Americans returning and a senior class that's won two national titles, Syracuse is the choice to start the season at the top. Virginia, North Carolina, Cornell and defending national champ Duke round out the top five. This is the first of two polls issued this week which have the Tar Heels at No. 3.

The second poll released this week was the Face-Off Yearbook Coaches Poll which has a slightly different set of rankings but the Tar Heels still log on at No. 3. Four of the top 5 teams in this poll hail from the ACC.
