Tar Heels In The Pros: June Recap

The month of June was a busy one for several Tar Heels as the second overall pick in the 2009 MLB Draft, Dustin Ackley, made his major league debut for the Mariners and 2006 first rounder Andrew Miller made his season debut for the Red Sox.

In the minors, three Tar Heels were promoted in the month of June as Tim Fedroff and Kyle Seager each debuted at AAA and 2010 first round pick Matt Harvey made his AA debut recently.

Three members of the 2011 squad inked professional contracts following their trip to the College World Series as seniors Greg Holt (Nationals), Patrick Johnson (Rockies) and Jesse Wierzbicki (Astros) all signed deals in late June.
