2015 Men's Lacrosse Schedule Announced
December 19, 2014 | Men's Lacrosse
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Coach Joe Breschi and the University of North Carolina has released its 2015 men's lacrosse schedule. The schedule includes 14 regular season contests including 10 in the friendly confines of Fetzer Field.
Most game times are set but they are subject to change pending final television arrangements. An announcement on the final television schedule is expected soon from the Atlantic Coast Conference. All current TV details are TBA.
Carolina will play its first seven matches at Fetzer Field, which will be the site of all 10 home games this year. All ACC games will now be played on the final four weekends of the regular season with the Tar Heels hosting Duke and Syracuse while traveling to Virginia and Notre Dame.
The Tar Heels will continue their long-standing rivalries against Johns Hopkins and Maryland, members of the newly formed Big 10 Conference in men's lacrosse. The Tar Heels will host Johns Hopkins on February 22 and will play Maryland in Santa Ana, Calif. on March 21. Maryland will be the designated home team as the game was due to be played in College Park, Md. as part of the series rotation.
The Tar Heels will play games against all four teams which reached last year's Final 4 (Denver, Duke, Notre Dame, Maryland) as well as five other opponents who reached last year's NCAA Tournament (Johns Hopkins, Bryant, Harvard, Virginia and Syracuse). In addition, Richmond played last year in an NCAA play-in game.
Season tickets for Carolina's 10-game home schedule are now on sale at the GoHeels.com Ticket Center for $30.
