
Road Swing Begins Sunday At Colorado

BOULDER, Colorado - North Carolina visits Colorado on Sunday at 3 p.m ET in the second game of a home-and-home series. The Tar Heels overcame an 18-point deficit in turning back the Buffaloes, 87-80, in overtime last Nov. 17 in Chapel Hill. Paris Kea (28) and Jamie Cherry (26) combined for 54 points in the comeback victory.

Tied 1-1. The matchup is just the third all-time between Carolina and CU. The first meeting was a second round NCAA Tournament game that Colorado won on its home court, 86-67 on March 24, 2003.
LAST TIME OUT
   North Carolina used a strong defensive performance to notch a 59-47 victory over VCU on Wednesday afternoon from Carmichael Arena. Janelle Bailey scored a season-high 18 points and was a rebound shy of another double-double for North Carolina (3-0). Paris Kea added 15 points and four steals and Shayla Bennett had 10 points.Â
   Carolina held VCU scoreless for over 10 minutes in the second half to seize control of the game. Keyed by its defense, the Tar Heels put together an impressive 20-0 run that bridged the third and fourth quarters. The lead grew to 47-26 on a three-pointer from Kea early in the final period.
   VCU (2-1) never got closer than a dozen points of the Heels in the final seconds. Sydrei Archie led the Rams with 11 points and five boards.
TAR HEEL TIDBITS
• Coach Hatchell is five wins shy of setting the record for most wins at an ACC school (Currently held by Debbie Ryan, Virginia, 739).
• UNC has allowed an average of only 5.5 points in the third quarter the last two games. Kent State scored 11, while VCU only had four points and was scoreless the final 8:59 of the third period on Wednesday.
• Through three games, Carolina has had a different player lead the team each game in points, rebounds and assists.
• UNC leads the ACC in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.209).
• Carolina also leads the conference with a +4.0 turnover margin.Â
• The Tar Heels have opened their season with a 3-0 record for the second time in three seasons.
