Swimming & Diving Wraps Up Competition At The ACC Championship

ATLANTA – The North Carolina women's swimming and diving finished in fourth place at the 2022 ACC Championships, while the Tar Heel placed seventh.
Virginia claimed the team title on the women's side, tallying 1418.5 points during the five-day event at the McCauley Aquatic on the campus of Georgia Tech. NC State finished as the runner-up with 1347 followed by Louisville (1136.5), Carolina (760) and Duke (709) to round out the top five.
NC State was the runaway winner on the men's side, finishing 309 points in front of second place Louisville. The Wolfpack accumulated 1501.5 points, while no other team scored over 1200 points. The Tar Heels scored 529 points.
On the final day of competition, a trio of Tar Heels qualified for the women's championship finals: Grace Countie (100 free), Sophie Lindner (200 back) and Aranza Vazquez (platform). Countie and Lindner each posted IV21 times in their respective events.
The UNC men's 400 freestyle relay team of Tomas Sungaila, Nick Radkov, Noah Rutberg and Boyd Poelke set the school record with a time of 2:52.26, which is also an NCAA B qualifying time.
