Swimming & Diving Sends 17 To NCAA Championships

CHAPEL HILL – Six Carolina swimmers, three divers and nine relay teams will compete at the 2022 NCAA Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships in Atlanta later this month.
Senior diver Anton Down-Jenkins won both the men's 1 and 3-meter springboard competitions at the 2022 NCAA Zone B Championships, while sophomore Aranza Vazquez earned first place in the women's 1-meter springboard to automatically qualify for the championships. Vazquez also finished third in the women's platform and the 3-meter event to qualify for the NCAA Championship meet. Alex Hart placed seventh in the men's 3-meter competition to earn a trip to Atlanta.
The NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will be held at McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech, March 16-19, while the men's event will take place March 23-26 at the venue.
Below is a list of the selected swimmers and the events in which they qualified:
Women
• Grace Countie – 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke
• Sophie Lindner – 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke
• Greer Pattison – 100 backstroke
• Ellie VanNote – 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly
• Aranza Vazquez – 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard, platform
• Relays: 200 freestyle, 200 medley, 400 freestyle, 400 medley, 800 freestyle
Amy Dragelin, Lilly Higgs, Heidi Lowe, Olivia Nel,
Men
• Anton Down-Jenkins – 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard

• Boyd Poelke – 100 butterfly
