CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The No. 1 University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team will partake in its third top-10 matchup of the season by hosting No. 9 Virginia on Saturday, March 11, at Dorrance Field. First draw is set for 3 p.m. ET and will be aired on ACCNX.

Tickets are available for purchase here. Saturday's game will be a doubleheader with UNC men's lacrosse, and one ticket will gain entry to both events. Fans are encouraged to seek parking in the Bell Tower Deck, Cobb Deck and Raleigh Road Visitor's Lot.

Entering Saturday's contest, North Carolina has…

won 45 consecutive regular season games, the second longest streak in NCAA history
won 24 consecutive regular season ACC games
won 27 games in a row, matching its program record for longest win streak
won 36 consecutive home games, the longest streak in program history
gone 71-6 in its last 77 games against ACC opponents (regular season and postseason)
already defeated two top-10 teams by a combined 18 goals this season
not allowed more than nine goals each game through the first five contests of the year
scored double-figure goals for 62 times in its last 64 games
won 54 of its last 55 games, and 62 of its last 64

The top-ranked Tar Heels are coming off a dominant 16-5 win over No. 4 Boston College in a rematch of last year's national title game. Three players in Caroline Godine, Nicole Humphrey and Sophie Student recorded a hat trick with Humphrey registering a game-high four points.

Between the pipes, goalkeeper Alecia Nicholas had nine saves against the Eagles while her 6.27 goals-against average on the year ranks second in the country. Nicholas and Reilly Casey were both recently added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, giving UNC a nation-leading six selections.

A few major milestones are on the horizon for the Tar Heels…

UNC is one win away from tying Maryland (46, 3/9/95-4/20/97) for the longest regular season win streak in NCAA history
The Tar Heels are one win away from setting a new team record for longest win streak in program history
Caitlyn Wurzburger is two points away from reaching 150 in her career
Wurzburger is also nine assists away from being tied for seventh all-time in UNC history for career assists (77)
Jenny Levy, the winningest coach in league history, is two ACC wins away from 100 in her career

This will be the 48th meeting all-time between UNC and UVA, with the Tar Heels leading the series at 34-13, including 12-8 in Chapel Hill. Carolina has not lost to Virginia since May 17, 2014, in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

UNC beat Virginia twice last year: 17-7 in the regular season and 24-2 in the NCAA Second Round. UNC's 24-2 win tied for its largest victory in program history, and Wurzburger had a career-high six assists vs. the Cavaliers in the NCAA Tournament last year.
