FAIRFIELD, CONN. - In front of sold out crowds at Rafferty Stadium on the campus of Fairfield University, the Premier Lacrosse League continued its 2023 campaign this past weekend, the final matchups for clubs prior to the midway point in the season and the 2023 PLL All Star Game.
July 14 - Archers vs. Redwoods
Connor Maher collected two groundballs for the Archers, helping the club to their second-straight victory to enter the All Star break atop the PLL standings.
July 15 - Cannons vs. Chrome
Marcus Holman stuffed the stat sheet once again for the Cannons, now winners of three-straight, with two goals and one assist offensively, also adding two groundballs and a caused turnover. Holman currently is second in the PLL in one-point goals (14) and third in total points (21). On the flip side in the matchup for the Chrome, Justin Anderson found the back of the net for the team's first goal in the opening period.
Returning to the lineup after winning the gold medal at the World Lacrosse Championship in San Diego, Jack Rowlett caused one turnover and added a groundball, with fellow defenseman Will Bowen collecting a groundball himself. At midfield for the Chaos, Will Perry returned to his home state of Connecticut and helped the club get back on the winning side. For the Atlas, Chris Gray scored two goals and handed out an assist, also adding a career-high six groundballs in the matchup.
