ALBANY, N.Y. - The 2024 Premier Lacrosse Season kicked off in Albany, N.Y. this past weekend, with five North Carolina men's lacrosse alums seeing action across this weekend's four games at Tom & Mary Case Stadium on the campus of UAlbany.
Entering week one, eight Tar Heels made their respective PLL 25-man rosters:
- Boston Cannons: Marcus Holman, Zac Tucci
- California Redwoods: Chris Gray
- Carolina Chaos: Will Bowen, Jack Rowlett
- Denver Outlaws: Justin Anderson
- New York Atlas: Lance Tillman
- Utah Archers: Connor Maher
June 1 - Utah Archers vs. Philadelphia Waterdogs
Connor Maher and the defending PLL champion Archers began the 2024 campaign with a 12-11 victory over the Waterdogs. In the victory, Maher posted three ground balls and a key fourth quarter caused turnover.
June 1 - Boston Cannons vs. New York Atlas
2023 Attackman of the Year Marcus Holman had two one-point goals and a ground ball, as the Cannons fell to New York, 19-12, in the Atlas' homecoming weekend.
June 2 - Carolina Chaos vs. Denver Outlaws
Three Tar Heels saw action in Sunday's opening game, a 16-11 verdict in favor of Carolina. Jack Rowlett, an all-star in three-straight season, scored his first career two-point goal, filling the stat sheet with two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Joining him on the Chaos defensive end, second-year defenseman Will Bowen collected two ground balls. On the flip side for Denver, Justin Anderson scored a goal for the Outlaws, also adding a career best five ground balls.
