General--A spirited three-year letter winner who has excelled as a part-time starter and key reserve from 2001-03...came to Carolina as one of the best players in Missouri high school history...she finished as the all-time single season and career goal scorer in the Show Me State's high school history...finished with a career assist total that ranks fourth all time among high school players in the United States...the Missouri high school record holder for single season assists (38), career assists (103), single season goals (56) and career goals (167).
ODP Soccer Experience-- Past member of the U.S. Under-18 National Team...was named to the Region II ODP team for 2001...she previously was on that same team from 1997-99 as the starting center midfielder...played for the Busch Soccer Team from 1999-2001...the team won the state cup in 2001 and advanced to the regionals...in 2000 Busch Soccer Team was also the state champion and ended up as the regional runnerup...played for the Marine Soccer Club from 1995-99...spent time there as a center midfielder, forward and defender.
2003 Season--Dependable player who saw action in all 27 matches for the Tar Heels in 2003...scored a goal in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals against NC State...had assists in the wins over Villanova, High Point and Santa Clara.
2002 Season--Had an outstanding campaign for the Tar Heels...started 14 of the 25 matches in which she played...she scored three goals and added four assists...scored goals against USC, Marquette and Florida International...had two assists in the Guilford match and added single assists against FIU and in the ACC Tournament match versus Maryland.
2001 Season--Played in all 25 games for the Tar Heels as a freshman, earning two starts...scored her only goal of the season against Missouri and had assists against Georgia and in the NCAA Tournament win over Duke.
Prep--A 2001 NSCAA High School All-America...the Missouri High School Player of the Year in 2000...was named first-team All-State in Missouri for the four years in a row...was named to the NSCAA All-Midwest Team in 2000...graduated from Rolla High School on June 3, 2001...played forward and midfield at Rolla High School from 1997-2000...was the Missouri High School Offensive Player of the Year in 2000...was the captain of her high school team in 1999 and 2000...led her high school team to four straight state quarterfinal appearances...she was named four years in a row to the all-district and all-state teams...was the four-year Rolla High School MVP for soccer...also an adept swimmer...was a qualifier for U.S. Swimming sectionals, achieving 4A times in the breaststroke events...in her spare time she served as a swimming coach with the Rolla Fins Swim Club...she graduated as the valedictorian of her high school class with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Personal--Given name is Anne Chandler Felts...nicknamed Feltsey and Feltser...has two sisters...was born on August 11, 1983 in Rolla, Mo...is the daughter of James and Cynthia Felts...her dad is bicycle racer and cross country skier...Anne was the overall MVP of the Carolina Girls Soccer Camp in 2000 and the offensive MVP at the Carolina Girls Soccer Camp in 1998...likes cycling, hiking, camping and rock climbing....athletes she most admires are Leslie Gaston and Lance Armstrong...biggest sports thrill was winning the 2003 NCAA championship with what she describes as all of her best friends...she has alopecia, an auto immune disorder which caused her to lose all her hair her senior year in high school...she was bald from ages 16 to 20 but her hair began growing back after Carolina won the 2003 NCAA title...her family lives in Rolla, 100 miles from St. Louis, but for seven years the family made a 200-mile roundtrip three to four times a week for Anne's club soccer games...as a senior at Rolla High School she was co-enrolled at the University of Missouri-Rolla...her favorite book is The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien...favorite foods are sushi, ice cream and steak...loves watching an soccer match she can find on TV...at UNC, she works with ACC Outreach, the Athletic Fundraising Committee and the UNC Dance Marathon...Carolina women's soccer team academic team captain...member of UNC's Student-Athlete Academic Council...she is majoring in geology...would like to be a science teacher and soccer coach.
