Tar Heels' Annual Fall World Series Begins Saturday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After three weeks of team practices and scrimmages, intra-squad bragging rights will be on the line this weekend when the University of North Carolina baseball team splits into the Dirty 30's and Howell's Heels for the annual Fall World Series, which kicks off Saturday at Boshamer Stadium.
The best-of-three series opens at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, with game two set for 6 p.m. Sunday. If needed, the teams will meet in a third and deciding game at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17. All three games are open to the public and admission is free.
Assistant coach Chad Holbrook will manage the Dirty 30's, while assistant Jason Howell obviously will serve as skipper for Howell's Heels. Scott Forbes is the pitching coach for both teams. Senior Jonathan Hovis is the player-coach for Howell's Heels, with junior Bryan Steed in the same role for the Dirty 30's.
